I don't know if I ever told you, but our branch has a goal this year of giving away a hundred BOM's. Which is totally doable, and an awesome goal! We've been trying to help them with that a little bit. The branch here is amazing. They love helping out with missionary work. They are very missionary minded.
So, I'm not sure what the groundhog said here, all I know is I thought spring was around the corner, and now it's freeeezing cold! It's been a very cold week! And I've been sick with a head cold. Not a fun combo, because we still have to go out. But it has been slowly getting better, I just sound funny still. We really bundle up though! Sometimes I get sick of wearing so many layers. We were joking the other day with this lady about how many elastic waistbands we had on....hahha I counted 6. Seven layers counting my coat. (Just a taste for how fun it is to be in a skirt in Canada). Anyway, we laughed so hard together. Then yesterday Sister Nicholls and I started cracking up on someone's doorstep because she tried to put a card in the mail slot (since they weren't home) and it spit it back out......And both of us were fumbling around for like a full minute trying to pick it up with our mittens on! No one wanted to succumb and take off their gloves. I'm sure that looked great to any bystanders. Actually I love it when we can laugh on people's doorsteps. Then maybe we look less scary and more human.
I'm really excited to go grocery shopping today. I have hardly any food left! And finally this week we get our allotment. Yesterday I had dry cereal with a cut up apple, and by the end of my bowl I ended dumping my hot chocolate on it for some wet. haha. Not that bad.
So I don't know if I ever told you about Peve. It stands for P-day Eve.....anyway we get really excited for peve. Mostly because it means the next day we get to go to the temple and hear from family, and also because it means we have less to plan for nightly planning so we do things like bake a cake and cleaning our recyclables out (last night's adventure).
Anyway, sorry this is so random, I'm finding myself in a hurry this week. But I hope everyone is doing well. I love you all and hope that February finds you with lots of love!Love, Sister Jen Olsen
