It's been a week full of adventures and miracles. We've had some crazy things happening in our apartment and stuff. But most recently we discovered we have a slight mold problem! I haven't been feeling well lately, lots of headaches, I feel nauseous a lot of the time when I eat, and I'm always tired.......and we're pretty sure it's the mold. So we've gone to town cleaning our apartment really well and I feel better already. We had to throw out a lot of nasty old things too. And we found lots of black and red mold in our couch and other places.......! It was SOOOOO gross. No wonder we all have sinus problems here! Sister Johnson in Wolfville has been really sick lately (way more than me or any of us) and she went to the doctor, they put her on an antibiotic and the next week at her check up, they decided she had mold poisoning and she can't go back to that apartment at all! So they've been staying in Kingston, she's been resting while her companion goes on exchanges, and the ZL's are looking for a new apartment in Wolfville. Craziness.
Which reminds me, transfers are next week and I'm completely clueless as to what's going to happen. I'm really trying to be okay with whatever scenario though haha. I know it will all be fine. As it's getting closer though, I'm wondering if I should be more nervous than I am..........things are pretty good right now! But the weather is getting quite a bit colder. It feels like it switched to cold fall in an instant. It's really bringing me back to Amherst last year. It's not as pretty as it should be though because all the trees are bare already, thanks to tropical storm Earl. So it's kind of ugly outside, and it's kind of sad.
But anyway, about our miracles this week. We really have been trying to apply the things that we've learned at training, and already we've seen great things! We have two new investigators, and a couple solid potentials, and best of all, our lessons have been amazing. I think I've told you all about Amanda our investigator and her less active boyfriend Darren. But anyway, he rarely talks very much to us and always refuses to take part in things, and we got him to kneel and pray this past week! No convincing here. Just teaching him the doctrine and inviting him to act. It was so touching. He agreed to pray and we all knelt at the end of our lesson. It took him a few seconds to start and he said a few lines, a couple things he's grateful for. And then he said, "I don't know what to say" and then............literally a two minute silence. No one jumped in and we just waited patiently. I looked at him twice and he looked so intent and reverent. I'm sure he was communicating a slient prayer in his heart. He eventually closed his prayer.....and it was an awesome experience. We all felt the Spirit there. I know he did too. Testimony to me that doctrine taught and understood can change hearts and behavior faster than we ever could stewing about it. So they are doing well as a couple. Baby steps here and there. But we are teaching people, not lessons. They are both coming to the temple tonight to meet with us and President Blake (the temple president). He is open to meeting with people in the little foyer area, and I've had investigators come before and it's been a wonderful experience. So we're going to have a lesson there with them tonight. It'll be a good chance for them to feel the Spirit there, learn about temples, and learn about their eternal possibilities! Anyway, Amanda and Darren are great! Very willing to be involved in the ward and with activities and lessons and all. Anway, that's all I'll share for now.
I hope you're all having a great week with whatever you're doing!!
