It's been a pretty good week. Weird and long. My companion was sick and we ended up staying in for two days. I cleaned and cleaned, and organized, and read, and exercised, and cleaned some more. Fun stuff eh? But she's getting better......and we're getting back into routine which is GREAT. We thought she had swine flu (it's going around here), but I don't think she does. An elder in our district has been really sick for about 2 weeks now, I feel bad for his poor companion! But turns out he just has a really bad sinus infection. I'm trying to take care of myself the best I can.........Anyhoo, swine flu is on the rise! Even in Atlantic Canada haha
So I was reading the other night on adversity.....and I love this part of Elder Eyring's talk May 2009: "It is clear that for us to have that gift [eternal life] and to be given that trust [endless posterity], we must be transformed through making righteous choices where that is hard to do. We are prepared for so great a trust by passing through trying and testing experiences in mortality. That education can come only as we are subject to trials while serving God and others for Him."
That is how it feels out here. Adversity. And doing what is right when it is hard to do. It only makes sense that that is how we would become worthy of that trust though. God is powerful because He has honor for the law, He is obedient. We have to learn to become the same. Anyway, interesting thought for the week. It gave me comfort in knowing that it just has to be that way!
Welp tell me what you're all up to....love you all tons and hope things are going great!
Much love, Sister Olsen
