So it got bitterly cold and windy again here!......And now it's rainy! This morning we started our jog in the dark morning, and by the end it was pouring! We were drenched. It was not very pleasant haha. But I got my dream of running in the rain.
I love when we are knocking, to see all these moms walking their little children to and from school. Everyone here is out running or walking and just enjoying life. On one playground we walked by, I'm not sure if it was recess, or the end of school, but there were like 20 moms just talking and chilling with each other and playing with their kids around the playground....it was so adorable to see. I love it!
Today while at the grocery store, we ran into our friend Mark. He is homeless and sits on his usual place on Quinpool often when we're out street contacting. I said hi to him, and he gave me a copy of this story that he has written. It's like a biography. He's a very educated and smart man. I asked him if he wanted a banana and he said sure. He'd eat it while he was in his "office" (his steps on the street). He wants me to review his paper and get back to him next time I see him. We sure meet a lot of homeless people here. Not a ton. But a few peddlers. It's hard, as a minister of Jesus Christ, they expect you to always directly help them and give them money. All we can offer really is testimony. And although its hard for them to see God's love in their life, I try to tell them anyway.
It's so interesting to see here the lies that Satan has drenched our society in!!!! SO MANY students at the universities here are atheist, and/or believe in evolution and will tell you until they turn blue! It makes sense that Satan would want us all to undermine our beginnings by telling us that we evolve from apes. And he would want us to distance ourselves from the realization of God and His love. And he would want us to be SO distracted in this world that we can't feel the Spirit tell us otherwise. We come up against these issues a lot around all the college students. And not just them though. It's tough. Sometimes they're so open minded. But other times they're so busy and closed off and difficult haha. Reminds me of how grateful I am for the Plan of Salvation. Heavenly Father's plan is perfect and it makes so much sense. And brings so much peace.
I don't know about you all, but I am so excited for Easter! It is such a beautiful season to be able to celebrate our Savior Jesus Christ and the hope that He gives us all. I know that Jesus Christ lives. And how grateful I am for the simplistic truth, peace and happiness that He brings into our lives. Everyone live up General Confrence and take notes! I'm excited to hear from our living prophet, President Thomas S. Monson! He is God's mouthpiece on earth. The brethren are truly called of God.
I love you all and hope you're well!
