So....first item of happy news.....The mission just got a brand new Subaru Impreza that is four wheel drive and going to Newfoundland because they have crazy winters there.........but the ferry is closed right now to take it there. So Elder Tanner decided to let us drive it until the ferry opens!!! (Just a couple weeks). (And we trade with the other car-less elders). But it's a great blessing right now. It's a nice car too!
Knocking last week, we met this young married girl from Mexico named Rebecca. She was nannying at the door we knocked. And we had a great talk with her! We ended up giving her a BOM and are actually going to call her today to set up an appointment. But it was so interesting talking to her. She has these HUGE beautiful eyes that were just like windows to her soul. She very much felt a connection in our conversation. You could just see it. So we'll see where that goes.
Last night knocking was hilarious........door after door was just so short and so funny. People say some of the most ridiculous things and it's just so awkward sometimes. I was laughing between doors. But had two good contacts come from the night -- neither YSA, but that's okay.
We had an appointment with Joe Xue last week, and little did we know, it was our last one before he was leaving for China!! Little poop, he didn't even tell us until we were there! It was a good lesson. I really feel like he's going to be baptized this fall with Ji when they both come back. I love these two Chinese boys. It's probably the saddest goodbyes yet since I've been on my mission!! I can't even tell you. AND then we had to say goodbye to one of our branch missionaries this week, Jessica, who's going home for the summer to Cape Breton. Third saddest goodbye!! I really love these people. It's strange when I start to see people and feel like I've known them all my life, just like they're so familiar to me! I'm really going to be sad when I leave Halifax. It's really becoming a part of me!
Well I hope you're all doing well. Write me and tell me how you are! I would love to hear from you all! Have a GREAT week!
