Sister Billings, Shona our investigator, Sister Olsen

In Preach My Gospel it states that our purpose as missionaries is "To invite others to come unto Christ, by helping them to receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end." We were asked in our district to rewrite our purpose in our own words (not at all to be in place of, but just as an activity). My purpose rewritten states that our purpose is to "Inform God's children of reality." The gospel of Jesus Christ is more than just a good idea. It's more than just a story, or just another church out there. It is the absolute truth about who we are and why we're here and what we're working towards. God's whole plan is to bring about our eternal, everlasting happiness. The only way there is to follow the gospel of Jesus Christ. And the gospel of Jesus Christ is what helps us to cut through all of the lies and confusion in this world and see clearly this reality!! The world has such a different, distorted, and completely false perception of what is reality. How grateful I am to know these things and share them with others.

We have a new investigator, Lois, that we are so excited about! She is Shona's older sister. Who has already read Our Search for Happiness and Our Heritage before we even got to sit down with her! Our first lesson yesterday went great! The Spirit was there very strong and she is yet another prepared soul! I think for her, it will be a matter of some lifestyle changes. But soo possible! We're excited about her!

A quote I found the other day that I really liked: "Rationalizing is the bringing of ideals down to the level of one's conduct. Repentance is the bringing of one's conduct up to the level of his ideals."
