Sooooo........Canada Day was fun.....definitely not as big as the Fourth in the states, but we went and walked around the "downtown festivities" (again, not that big).......and then went to a BBQ at a members. It was good. We could hear some of the fireworks that night. But....that was about it. I wondered what day you'd all celebrate the Fourth. That's cool they did it on Saturday! And the applause too, I wish I could've heard that. (For those of you who may not have seen 4th of July fireworks in Idaho Falls, it is said that we have the largest fireworks display west of the Mississippi. It has been estimated that approximnately 100,000 people watch the fireworks. We as a family watched the fireworks close to Freeman Park, just over the bridge where the fireworks are set off. At the end of a spectacular half hour show, there was a massive roar of applause and cheering from the crowd!) I have to admit, I LOVE the Fourth of July. Our's here was very different. We even sang "Oh Canada" in church on Sunday haha. The Worth's (members that we love) put up an American flag in their window Saturday night though! That was brave!! They were risking getting egged or something. People here don't really like the States all that much. As Sister Billings and I were walking about on Sunday, we sang patriotic songs to ourselves haha.
