Well I've now spend almost a full week here in Fredericton. It's been good, but a longgg week! It's been really fun trying to get acquainted with a new area and faces. Fredericton is split in two by the St. John River, leaving the North side and the South side. We live and work on the south side and live up at the top of a big hill. The church, universities, downtown area, and lots of stores are all on our side. The ZL's live on the other side. It's more residential. It seems so far that this city is like a smaller version of Halifax, so of course I love it already! French is the second language of NB, so you see it on all the street signs and everything as well as English. I do remember a few French things........things like the American pledge of allegiance....cheese........good idea....the ABC's.......yeah, it’s going to come in handy ;) There is a lot of French and Indian influence here. A lot of people in the ward have French last names......it’s a little crazy to try and learn.
Anyway, my companion is from Utah near SLC. She is great. She's a hard worker and very sweet, and we get along well. I've found that we think very similarly when it comes to missionary work, so already things have been great! I feel like we're a very competent team together. She's about half way done with her mission. I feel like there are some great lessons we have to learn from each other as well. So yeah. It's been fun to be here and street contact again! It feels like putting on an old familiar glove.........hahahha. It's been super rainy and cold for DAYS NOW!!!!!!!!! I'm so sick of getting wet haha. Usually it pours, but it comes and goes. It's been here for days now. I think it's colder here than in the metro as well. So yeah for me and winter! Yikes. But it should be good. We have a good teaching pool going on right now. A great ward too. There are two people on date for baptism, one next Saturday - Christina, and the other in December - Joan! I'll have to tell you more about them next time. We do some awesome service here too. We go help prepare and serve lunch at a men shelter every other week in their kitchen. And then we also help this cute, cute family from Burundi Africa with their English homework in their home (I think twice a week). The parents (who we work with) are Sarah and Jonathan. They are so fun. They are actually here in Canada as refugees. They used to be taking the lessons, but they need to learn English first. They live close to the church and have come a few times, and I think have a BOM in their own language. But anyway..........I'm not sure what else to say! My feet are tired already after not even a week! I'm tired!! haha I think a nap is in order today. But it feels good to be busy. I'm pretty sure I'm loving it here already.
Anyway,if you would like to write, here's my new address:
