Odell Park is a huge, beautiful park next to where we live. We walk through it to get places. It feels like the Movie Narnia. It's incredibly beautiful! We have had so many pretty, pretty snow days this week!!!!!! The soft falling huge snowflakes the type that leaves a half a foot of powder on the ground. It's been so fun and so beautiful! We've done a lot of walking and knocking in it.......! But so far we're staying pretty healthy. My feet get sore and tired from walking around in snow boots all day. The Elders built a huge snowman in front of the church and someone killed it the NEXT DAY! Seriously peeps. I would've expected maybe a few more days. We've had some fun snow fights....The other day Fredericton had a Christmas Parade downtown and we didn't know about it beforehand but got to walk past part of it. It was so fun! It was in the evening and was also in one of those beautiful snow falling moments. Our bus route got cut off, and the bus driver just parked and was like, "Alright this is it for a few hours." Ummmmmm what? So we had to run through the parade and up the hill for our next appointment. It was quite the adventure.
Sunday was a crazy day at church. It’s amazing how stressful and overwhelming church can be as a missionary. It's exhausting. After church we were out knocking and then our dinner appointment cancelled and so we just kept knocking, it was kind of miserable. BUT then by a miracle a few hours later the dinner appointment came through! It was with the Lopez family. They are a young couple with two kids from Guadalajara Mexico. She doesn't speak any English and his is very limited. But oh man, it was the best meal ever!!!!!!!!!! Spicy and flavorful bean and steak soup with homemade tortillas and homemade horchata.........it was the best and spiciest thing I've eaten in Canada. And we thoroughly enjoyed their company. It was fun trying to remember my Spanish with them and laugh. And THEN they bundled up the whole family just to give us a ride home up the hill. Bless their souls. Many tender mercies.
We have a new investigator that we're so excited about this week! She is from China here studying and her name is Scarlet. Her English is great and she's so excited to learn! She said she feels like she has a hole in her life that she feels like she's ready to fill. Well let us tell you.......! haha She's great. A couple other great people that we're working with. It's hard when people start going home for the holidays - for like a month!!!!! But oh well. It's incredible to look back over my mission and see so many people affected that I've been able to work with for short periods of time. I'm so blessed!!!!!!!!!!
Well, that's all from me. I love you all! Canada loves you too.
