We went to Amherst's little Christmas parade last week. I couldn't believe it's that early in the month! But hey, I'll get excited for Christmas early! I'm excited for the season. The people are so nice here. Fortunately, no snow yet. It's just been nice, then cold, now wet. So who knows. I wouldn't be surprised if it came any day though. We've been out in some cold days though!
The other day we went and had a first lesson with this lady that we ran into a few weeks earlier, and after the lesson, I asked her randomly if she had seen a glove around her place, because I lost my glove that day I met her (Halloween). Anyway, she said she'd look. We left and walked to our next appointment. We come back to the car and there is a grocery bad tied to the door handle. She had written me a nice little note telling me that she couldn't find mine, but here was a pair I could have! She was so sweet. Her name is Aimie. We're actually going to see her again this week. But anyway, I called her that night to thank her! Very kind people.
That same night, we ended up having a lesson in this guy's backyard mechanic garage. His name was Gordy. It was just kind of funny. We were just standing there in his garage pretty much teaching the first. He said he would work and listen at the same time, but he just stood there and listened. We even left him with a prayer. haha It was awesome, but just kind of funny when you think about the circumstances.
So Logan is progressing great! And Wendy as well! Both are on date for Dec. 26th. They are so amazing. Teaching both of them has been effortless, they are truly prepared for the gospel in their lives. Logan is so funny. Phillip (the member who comes teaching with us) asked if he could baptize him. And Logan's like, "If you can get me back up." hahaha (Phillip is a really small guy and Logan is a really big guy). We were all joking about how maybe we'd tie a rope around Logan just in case. Anyway, he's awesome. Wendy is amazing. We've had some really great lessons with her. I don't know if I told you, but her son died shortly before I came here tragically in a fire. It's been cool to meet with her, she is an amazing person as well!
So transfers are next week.......! I'm pretty darn sure that Sister McEwan is leaving me. I won't be training, but I will be the one who knows the area and people we teach. It's giving me a little anxiety. Just when things get good, things change! I will miss Sister McEwan, I have learned a lot from her! But anyway, I don't know how I'm going to help these people progress! I know it's not up to me, but I hope I'm in tune enough and ready to receive that guidance. It's going to be a HUGE learning experience. Like I said, we don't know exactly what's going to happen, but we're pretty sure. Yikes.
