I've been reading A LOT lately in "Jesus the Christ" by Talmage. I LOVE it. I tried reading it at the beginning of my mission from the beginning, but never really got into it. But have been using it as a refrence as I've been studying the New Testament and had questions. And don't find it hard at all now. I've read quite a bit of it. I love that book! I recommend it to anyone.

I've noticed that here in Eastern Passage, people often give their lawns over to dandelions and wild yellow flowers. haha. It actually can look kind of cool, and sure cuts down on the upkeep of the lawn! Maybe we should all try that....
Also, EVERYONE here has a dog. And a fence. Everytime I let myself in a fence, I wonder if some big dog is going to come running after me. I have met SO MANY big mean dogs since I've been in this area! It's insane. Probably because its a little bit poorer or an area. Anyhoo haha.

So.......if you're wondering why this email is so late! It's because we went on an impromptu hike with the Elders today for p-day! Some of the other sisters joined us too, and there was a good little group of us. We hiked Cape Split, it was beautiful! (You should see if you can look at some pictures online. I was going to try and send you one, but that's near impossible here at the library). BUT WHAT A HIKE! It was fun. 5 miles there, 5 miles back. But the best part is we lost the trail right from the beginning. We ended up scaling some rocks......and I have SO many scratches on my arms and legs from the thornes and bushes we scrambled through. I look like I got in a fight with a cat! AND best part, Sister Billings' shoe came off in a muddy swamp. I felt pitty for her because this happened to me too a couple weeks ago at a dinner appointment (I don't know if I told you about that. But it was while we were exploring this member's forest-y backyard, and we went WAY too far and I ended up 5 steps past my shoe with it stuck in a muddy hole. haha). Anyway, I come to the rescue of Sister Billings today....all is well. And then I don't even know what happened, but I got my shoe totally submerged and stuck in mud worse than hers. I didn't want to pull my foot out of my shoe, and it took all my strength and willpower to pull my leg out. It was SO totally covered in thick mud. And then I did it again. hahaha. Everyone was laughing and taking pictures. I was laughing pretty hard as well. It was a sight. So now I have one grey tennis shoe, and one almost black tennis shoe. And lots of scratches. Anyway, the view at the end was beautiful and it was all fun. My legs are tore up though from hiking, I didn't take it easy on them at all!

Things with Shona are going great. She is progressing well. Still hasn't set a baptism date, but feels like its not time yet to nail it down. In her situation, it's totally legit. And I KNOW for a fact that she is trying to follow the spirit in it all. So in the meantime, we are having very good experiences with her.

Dan, our coffee shop meeting guy, has unfortunately fallen off the face of the planet this week. But to be honest, that's not all that unusual in missionary work, so we'll see what happens. We have a cool new investigator Jenna though. And we've been helping a less active member quit smoking. So things are going good. We still struggle. And we still try to work hard. And we still try to have fun. haha.

I feel like I should share a spiritual thought at the end of these emails, but the truth is I don't have time today. Or any day really haha. But KNOW that I do have a testimony of Jesus Christ's gospel and this work! It's incredible to be a part of. Something I'm sure I'll always treasure. I hope you all are well and happy and doing the things you know you should!

Much love from Canada!!!
