Transfer week is an exciting week!! We are not even moving, Sister Billings and I, but it's still so entertaining and fun haha. We have 13 new Elders in the mission and 1 new Sister right now. There are many changes in our leadership here in the Metro, and we'll have two brand new Elders in our District, and our District Leader is changing....and I'm just grateful for all the changes. I need them every once in awhile! No matter how much we may like or dislike a situation on the mission (granted I try to make the best of them always but...) I'm glad that sooner or later some things change! It really is an exciting time. I love being gathered around other missionaries too, and to glean strength from them. My perspective is always lifted too. So it's been a fun week.

This past week we were able to meet some Catholic nuns at our service place! It's an old folks home called Oceanview Manor (and it does have a cool view of the ocean). We were doing a hymn sing there, and these nuns started showing up to volunteer too. It was neat to get to talk to them a little bit this past time. It's just funny, because people are always asking us if we're nuns with the Catholic Church. Nope. These two nuns were relatively really young....one 28 and the other 25. They both wear their habits all the time too. But it was neat to get to talk to them and discover that we have a lot in common, but some differences too, and differences I'm grateful for. I respect all other religions, don't get me wrong, but I know that this is God's restored church on the earth. And we have a fullness of truth that blesses us with so much direction and comfort and empowering knoweledge. Sometimes I feel really sad when I see these old people and hear them singing their strange hymns, and thinking about death, and I wish so much that we could let them all know that there is something better. Something more beautiful, more tangible. Something that could bring more light and hope into their lives. But I know that everything will be worked out in time, because they are God's children as well.

Well I have to go for this week. But until next week....keep the home fires burning! I hope you all have fun and are being good. :)
Much Love, Sister Jen Olsen
